The Paranet Group welcomes WIPFLI team member Brett Polglaze and Joe Girard as they present on the Science Behind Culture in a Lean Transformation.
Read their description below and register for this upcoming event.
Shigeo Shingo, arguably the greatest Lean practitioner in history, noted that more than 95% of Lean implementations failed to deliver sustainable results. Why does this happen? The answer is a complicated one but also very simple: implementing Lean is a major change and a culture of change must be created and deeply planted into the mindset of all stakeholders. During the presentation we will briefly review examples of well-intention Lean programs that did not deliver the desired outcomes. We will then provide a road map for how to "prime" your company for the major changes ahead with specific examples, expected timelines, and most importantly a feedback loop to get your team back on track when your Lean efforts appear to stagnate; which it almost always does. Many companies abandon their efforts entirely or in part at this stage and the workforce becomes cynical and disengaged.

Lean Case Study
We'll review a real-world case, discuss and show how Value Stream Mapping reduced the fabrication time from over 50 minutes to 22 minutes. We'll review each step from timing the process, identifying the 8 types of waste to using Kaizen to remove waste. We discuss why lean is the best tool to ensure your shop is not only surviving but relevant and profitable. We'll explain why lean manufacturing a journey without a finish line is.
